Kleberg County Airport (KIKG) is a public airport conveniently located 9 miles west of Kingsville, Texas and is surrounded by several thousand acres of King Ranch property. The airport opened on February 1964 and has grown steadily since that time to become a quality service provider for General Aviation and is among the top rural airports in South Texas. Kleberg County Airport is equipped with an AWOS-3 (119.075) and provides 24 hour airport weather information. Our lighted runway 13/31, equiped with 4-light PAPI at each end, is 6001 feet in length and 75 feet in width. The weight-bearing capability is 65,000 pounds which can accommodate landings by more sophisticated G-4's, G-5's, Hawker 800's and 900's. We are GPS, LPV and NDB certified for instrument approaches, making us an all-weather airport.
Kleberg Airport is used regularly by a variety of flights, including naval flight training, various medical flights, Texas rabies eradication programs, Army National Guard and law enforcement. The airport also offers support for a number of corporate jet services, aircraft sales services and aircraft maintenance services, as well as being an important hub for commerce and trade. The economic impact of the airport to the local community is estimated at nearly $2.1 million annually.
